Visitors to this community museum and archives can get a glimpse into the early settlers' lives during the 1850s to 1900. The museum has restored the town's late 1840s stone lockup with its three cells, a log cabin farmhouse built in 1848 and a brick-veneered workingman's home furnished c.1900. The Meeting Place has displays, archives and a meeting room. Guided museum tours and gift shop are availble Victoria Day weekend to end of September. School and outreach programs including walking tours are offered by appointment. Groups and visitors to the archives must book ahead. Special displays and events, Canada Day and an annual house tour are also offered. Check the website for hours and further details.
